Birstall Removals & Moving Company

Birstall is a residential suburb to the north-west of Leicester, running along the River Soar and the edge of Watermead Country Park. It has a mix of detached and semi-detached family housing on wider residential streets, and is one of the more sought-after areas in the north Leicester corridor. We survey every Birstall move to plan parking and access at both ends before the day.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Excellent company. Team arrived on time and quickly loaded two full van loads on what transpired to be the hottest day of the year, at 36C! Very clean and respectful of my belongings and both properties. Unloading was just as efficient and placed items/boxes where designated. Took good care of everything and all was done at a very competitive price. Would recommend to all, without hesitation.

Flexible Start Times to Suit Your Move

Completions in Birstall are often unpredictable, and moving day rarely starts exactly on time. For fixed-price removals, we plan your start time around when you actually need to leave, not a rigid slot. This is confirmed in advance so there are no grey areas on the day.

For hourly removals charged in half-hour increments, start times are flexible throughout the day. Early morning, midday, afternoon and evening are all available. There is no strict cut-off, and we work at a pace that is safe and efficient.

Your Dedicated Birstall Removal Team

We cover Birstall and the LE4 postcode, including Wanlip, Watermeadow, and the streets backing onto the Watermead park boundary. For moves between Birstall and Thurmaston, Syston, or back into the north Leicester suburbs of Beaumont Leys and Mowmacre, we do those routes regularly. The A6 and Loughborough Road corridors are familiar ground.

Birstall properties tend to sit on wider, more accessible streets than many Leicester suburbs, but some of the older closes near the Wanlip Lane junction have limited turning space. We check this at the survey and plan the vehicle size and approach accordingly for those properties.

Furniture Dismantling and Reassembly

Furniture dismantling and reassembly is included in your move where needed. Our vehicles are equipped with the right tools, and beds, wardrobes and larger items are taken apart and rebuilt at the other end by the team.

If you know dismantling will be needed, let us know at the survey stage so we can plan the right team size and timings. There are a few things we cannot carry out, such as electrical disconnections or wall mounting. If you are unsure, ask at the survey and we will advise.

Optional Packing Services

Packing is usually the most time-consuming part of any house move. Our professional packing service is normally completed the day before your move. The team packs everything carefully, wraps fragile items, and labels each box by room. Full packing, part packing, and fragile-only packing are all available.

Packing materials are included in the packing service. After you have unpacked, we return to collect the boxes and packaging for reuse. Unpacking assistance is available at the new address if needed.

With Simply Moving handling the physical side of your Birstall move, you can focus on the legal and practical steps. We also offer storage if there is a gap between leaving your current property and getting into the new one.

Frequently asked questions

What areas of Birstall do you cover?

We cover Birstall (LE4) and the surrounding north Leicester area including Wanlip, Thurmaston, Watermead, and the Beaumont Leys and Mowmacre suburbs. We also move regularly between Birstall and Syston, Loughborough, and the city centre.

Do you offer fixed-price quotes for local moves?

Yes, both fixed-price and hourly options are available. Fixed-price suits most planned moves; hourly works better for smaller or more flexible jobs. We advise which fits your move at the survey stage.

How do I get a quote for a local removal?

You can request a quote via the survey form on our website, arrange a video survey, or book an in-person home survey. We visit both addresses before confirming a fixed-price quote.

Can you help with packing for a Birstall move?

Yes. Full packing, part packing, and fragile-only options are all available. Packing is normally carried out by the team the day before your move.

Are packing materials included?

Packing materials are included when you book a packing service. If you are packing yourself, materials are available to purchase separately.

Will you dismantle and reassemble furniture?

Yes, furniture dismantling and reassembly is included where required as part of your move. Let us know at the survey stage if this will be needed.

How many movers will be on my move?

The number depends on the property size, access, and volume being moved. This is confirmed at the Birstall survey so you know what to expect before the day.

Can you work around key release times on moving day?

Yes. We plan Birstall moves around completion and key release times. Start times are discussed and confirmed in advance so there are no surprises on the day.

Are you insured during the move?

Yes, insurance options are available to cover your belongings in transit. Ask at the survey stage for further details.

How far in advance should I book?

As early as possible, particularly for Friday moves in spring and summer. We take provisional Birstall bookings and confirm on exchange.
